A look into the simple, every day lives of the townsfolk of Grovers Corners, as they try to tell us about their town, particularly the friendship of George Gibbs and Emily Webb, high school sweethearts who decide to get married and settle down at home. It is only in the third act, as Emily looks back on her simple life after her death, that she realizes that it is the simple, seemingly meaningless every day moments that we miss the most.

Luella Soames ~ The town gossip, she is a huge busy-body who always needs to be the center of attention; but she is a romantic at heart who really cares about the people in her life, even if she's not as close to them as she would like to have others believe. She also loves to sing in the choir - as loudly and as obnoxiously as possible. She says out loud what most people are thinking, but are too decent and propre to say themselves.
Librarian Willard ~ Extremely intelligent, but socially awkward, Willard is passionate and excitable when it comes to facts like the percentage of slate in the local soil.
